A Wonderful Moment

I was having a typical day at home with the kids. They both had just gotten clean diapers and eaten breakfast. I was sipping on my coffee, trying to get going for the day. My little girl asked to watch "The Little Mermaid." I had just started her movie when she came up to me, gave me a kiss and a hug, and then told me “Momom, I love you.” It was such a lovely moment. It was the first time she had told me that, aside from when she was younger and just repeated the phrase. I smiled so big and hugged her so tight that it surprised her and she said, beaming, “Emma made Momom so happy. I glad.” It was so sweet. I may not make a paycheck, but I get paid with hugs, kisses, smiles, and “I love you’s.” I may not be contributing to the family financially, but I do contribute to our over all well being.
